Looking for your next cozy spot to sip, chat, or get some work done? Central Minnesota has a growing coffee scene filled with community-minded cafes, creative drinks, and warm, welcoming spaces. Whether you’re meeting a friend, treating yourself to a pastry, or settling in for a productive co-working session, these five coffee shops are absolutely worth a visit.
Over a year ago, a friend and I started meeting for weekly co-working coffee dates, and we quickly realized just how many gems Central MN has to offer. Here are five must-sip coffee shops you need to try on your next daycation!

☕ 1. District Coffee — St. Cloud, MN
Address: 3035 Roosevelt Rd., St. Cloud, MN 56301

District Coffee delivers the modern, community-forward coffee experience many of us have been craving. The founders envisioned “a gathering space for people looking for a fresh perspective on their coffee experience,” and they nailed it.
Inside, you’ll find sleek seating options: from bar tops and booths to velvety sofas, and even a reservable space for meetings or small groups. Their menu extends far beyond espresso, with plenty of non-coffee options and a great tea lineup (served in adorable 12-oz teapots).
Don’t miss:
✨ Seasonal crepes (like strawberry cheesecake with graham topping!)
✨ Homemade strawberry basil cream cheese
✨ Locally sourced + organic ingredients
District Coffee is equal parts “get-away” and “gather-here”, a perfect blend.

☕ 2. The Local Blend — St. Joseph, MN
Address: 19 West Minnesota Street, St. Joseph, MN 56374
☕ 2. The Local Blend — St. Joseph, MN
Address: 19 West Minnesota Street, St. Joseph, MN 56374
The Local Blend is the longest-standing spot on this list and a beloved community staple. Set in a historic building and celebrating 17+ years of caffeinating St. Joseph, this cozy shop is known for its warm atmosphere and generous menu.
They serve homemade, organic coffee and offer an impressive spread of hot, iced, and blended drinks. Bonus: they have Kombucha on tap, plus an in-house bakery that creates fresh muffins, scones, and cookies daily.
Food highlights:
🍕 Pizza, sandwiches, salads, small plates
🌱 Clearly labeled options for gluten-free, dairy-free, and vegan customers
It’s the kind of place where everyone from students to locals to travelers feels right at home.
☕ 3. Korppi Coffee + Bakeshop — St. Cloud, MN
Address: 71 County Rd. 120 Suite 400, St. Cloud, MN 56303
Korppi Coffee + Bakeshop is where chic design meets thoughtfully crafted drinks and baked goods. Their philosophy is simple: quality ingredients so you can treat yourself better.
Try heir signature drink, The Uncommon Raven: espresso, steamed milk, local maple syrup, organic cardamom, and black lava salt!
Beyond drinks, they offer salads, sandwiches, soups, and pastries. If you’re looking for a great deal, check their discounted day-olds!
My friends’ favorite: The Caesar salad (I’ve heard multiple cravings confessed!)
Korppi feels like a boutique coffee shop you’d stumble upon in a bigger city, right here in Central MN.
☕ 4. Kinder Coffee Lab — St. Cloud & Sauk Rapids, MN
Addresses:
• 203 Cooper Ave N, St. Cloud, MN 56303
• 214 2nd Ave N, Sauk Rapids, MN 56379
What began as a small coffee-bean delivery service has now grown into a beloved local brand with two brick-and-mortar shops. Their original location is sleek and modern, offering coffee, non-coffee drinks, scones, banana bread, and rotating breakfast items.
Fun fact: These are the only drive-thru coffee shops on this list! Huge win for busy mornings!
Kinder Coffee Lab is also known for hosting coffee education events like Cloud Coffeefest, and their beans are cleverly named after local inspirations:
🌅 Munsinger Light Roast
🌾 Wobegon Medium Roast
🌲 St. Germain Dark Roast
🌌 Aurora Decaf
Community-driven, creative, and convenient, Kinder is an easy favorite.
☕ 5. Second Street Coffee House — Sartell, MN
Address: 1091 2nd Street South, Sartell, MN 56377

Second Street Coffee House blends cozy comfort with clean, modern style, and yes, it’s extremely Instagrammable. They offer booths, tables, and even a dedicated kids’ table for little visitors.
Owner Meghan Kelsey created the space with community in mind, and her mission shows. They’re known for their extended weekday hours (a rarity for local coffee shops!) and their commitment to supporting military members, law enforcement, and the Alzheimer’s Association.
The standout here?
☕ Coffee flights!
Choose from their house specialties or their seasonal flight for a fun, sip-worthy treat.
All employees are also trained to communicate with individuals living with Alzheimer’s or dementia, a thoughtful and meaningful touch.
